 Please complete the following tasks for Unit 5

 

1. Page 40

Write sentences about your life using these Future Tenses

Write at least 1 sentence using EACH of the four Future tenses discussed - will plus verb, going to plus verb, present continuous and present simple

Also write a brief explanation for your sentence about WHY you used that verb tense in your sentence

UNDERLINE or HIGHLIGHT each verb that you use

Here is an example answer - your answers should look similar to this

PRESENT SIMPLE - I have class this Monday morning at 900 AM

Explanation - I am using the Present Simple because this is a scheduled event. It is part of my timetable.

Write at least 1 sentence using EACH of the Past Tenses that we discussed - Past Simple, Past Continuous and Past Perfect

Also write a brief explanation for your sentence about WHY you used that verb tense in your sentence.

Past Continuous - I was watching the hockey game when my mother called me

The hockey game was the longer event, and it was interrupted by the short event of my mothers phone call

Unit 3 Homework

In today's class we talked about and practiced finding the CONTENT words when reading questions and answer choices. We also talked about making PREDICTIONS based on those content words.  Also, we talked about practicing doing the above tasks quicker and quicker as we practiced more. That is, we talked about reducing your time in finding CONTENT words and making PREDICTIONS.  Remember that the TOEIC test is a timed test, so being able to find content words and make predictions faster and faster is an important skill to practice. It will save you time on the test AND in general it will improve your understanding of English.   For this Unit, your homework is as follows.  1. We completed number 1 and number 2 on page 25.
