 For next class, please complete the following tasks for the above two pages

1. Choose the correct answer for each question

2. Identify what part of speech each answer is - Noun, Verb, Adjective or Adverb

3. Highlight the suffix for each answer with a marker or highlighter

3. Write a quick explanation as to WHY you say it is a Noun, Verb, Adjective or Adverb

 

Here is an example for the first question

1. The decision not to approve the airport expansion was purely a _____ one

ANSWER - D - Political 

The adjective *political* describes the noun *one*, as in *decision*

ie - A political decision - a decision based on politics

 

 Also, please complete the questions on page 52. Do the same thing as above for the questions on page 52.

Unit 3 Homework

In today's class we talked about and practiced finding the CONTENT words when reading questions and answer choices. We also talked about making PREDICTIONS based on those content words.  Also, we talked about practicing doing the above tasks quicker and quicker as we practiced more. That is, we talked about reducing your time in finding CONTENT words and making PREDICTIONS.  Remember that the TOEIC test is a timed test, so being able to find content words and make predictions faster and faster is an important skill to practice. It will save you time on the test AND in general it will improve your understanding of English.   For this Unit, your homework is as follows.  1. We completed number 1 and number 2 on page 25. We looked at the CONTENT words and made PREDICTIONS, as I showed you in today's slideshow.
